Do you Need a Humidifier or Purifier?

You may have heard that the air inside your home is up to 10 times more polluted than the air outside. You may wonder how is that possible, there are cars and large factories that put tons of pollutants into the air everday, so how can my home be worse than that.

Well, the main reason for the poor air quality in your home is because their is a lack of ventilation in everyones home that causes a build up of pollutants that have no way of escaping. Since everyone wants to either keep their home cool or warm depending on the season, they have sealed up houses tighter that a coffin. Therefore the air that is inside the home has no way of leaving, so it just gets filthier and filthier.

Even in the cleanest houses there is some sort of pollutant that is effecting the air quality. some of these ingredients are:

1. Dust and dust mites.
2. Pet dander or Human dander (Dead skin cells)
3. Chemicals (household cleaners, adhesives, gas connections)
4. Cigarette Smoke

These are just a few of the problem areas that can effect the air in your home. If they are allowed to build up they can cause serious problems with your breathing, especially if you have a breathing disorder to start with. They can trigger acute asthma attacks or headaches and can even cause brain damage if the levels of contamination are let get out of control. However most of the homes are no where near this serious, and can be controlled by some type of air purification device or humidifier.

Since most people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, they are probably exposed to poor air quality alot more than they might think.
